Melissa Stoller will read the picture book, READY, SET, GORILLA! and discuss using wordplay and puns in writing. Children will leave with several of their own word play words ready for use in their stories.

We all have our own cultures and heritages - let's use our unique voices to tell our special stories. SADIE'S SHABBAT STORIES celebrates family history and the power of storytelling. Come with paper and pen to mine your family background and heirlooms in order to create your stories.
THE WRITING PROCESS
Learn about the writing process - brainstorming ideas, researching, writing, revising, and publishing. Through an interactive presentation, I demystify the process and provide practical tips to assist students with their own writing projects.
FINDING AND CAPTURING STORY IDEAS
Where do story ideas come from? How can you find ideas and capture them? Interactive games and writing prompts will spark writing ideas! Capture them all in an "Idea Journal" we will create together!
DEEP DIVE INTO RESEARCh
Take a deep dive into research. Writing fiction and non-fiction stories involves researching - to add details to plot, characters, and setting. Learn helpful research techniques and know when it's time to stop researching and start writing!
